Why Families Choose Us
Middle school is a critical time for learning and personal growth. Our students are challenged, supported, and inspired every day. Discover why families choose Manhattan Charter Schools.
Strong Academic Programs
Our curriculum is aligned with New York State standards, ensuring students build solid foundations in English, math, science, and social studies while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition, our school offers enrichment opportunities that expose students to music, technology, and creative learning beyond the core academic subjects. Our teachers design lessons that challenge students to think critically, build strong academic skills, and take ownership of their learning. We work closely with families to create a supportive school community that helps every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Student Preparation for College and Career Readiness
- We focus on academic excellence, digital literacy, and personal growth. Our students are prepared for college and career readiness as they move on to high school and beyond. As a result, we prepare students for the transition to high school by building organizational skills, responsibility, and confidence throughout Grades 4–8.
NYC’s First AI Technology Lab for Middle School Students
- We are proud to offer the first AI Technology Lab for middle school students in NYC, giving students early exposure to coding, artificial intelligence, and technology skills that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities. First, we educate our students on how to use AI safely. Then, the lab teaches our students how to use AI effectively.
How to Enroll
Applying to MCSI is simple. First, submit your free online application for 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. Then, the public lottery is held in instances when there are more applications than available seats.
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Additionally, we encourage families to apply as early as possible so their child has the best chance for placement. Families must complete registration after receiving their offer. After registration is complete, they will attend orientation.
